8-week AI graduate internship

Join us this summer to get hands-on experience in our AI Centre of Excellence. This could lead you straight onto the two-year programme.

Programme overview

Location: Southampton or London

Start date: 8 June 2026

Our eight-week summer internship puts you at the centre of our operations, working with the AI Centre of Excellence (AI COE). You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and contribute to exciting projects that use AI to make a real impact.

You’ll need a relevant degree in order to apply for this position, such as an MSc/PhD program AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, NLP, or related disciplines.

As an Applied AI Intern, you will:

  • Learn and innovate – explore new ideas, experiment with emerging technologies, and build your understanding of how AI is applied in the real world.
  • Gain real experience – be part of the full development journey, from designing and testing models to deploying practical solutions.
  • Collaborate and connect – work with teams across different regions and functions, seeing how AI supports a global business.
  • Grow with support – develop your technical skills with guidance and mentoring from experienced scientists and engineers.

Complete the programme successfully, and you could be considered for a two-year fixed-term Graduate Programme contract.

  • A passion for learning and a curious mindset, always eager to explore new concepts and technologies.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. 

You’ll need to be in your final year or have recently completed a MSc/PhD program in a relevant field such as AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, NLP, or related disciplines.

What does the recruitment process involve?

For our one-year and two-year programmes, we’ve designed our recruitment process to help us get to know you and give you the chance to shine.

  1. Apply with your CV

  2. Motivation questionnaire
    Here’s your chance to tell us why you’re interested in the role and what inspires you. We want to understand what drives you and how you see your career developing.
  3. Live video Interview
    You’ll meet our friendly Talent Acquisition team for a virtual chat. You can share your story and learn more about us.
  4. Assessment centre
    Join us at our London or Southampton office for an interactive experience. You’ll take part in group exercises, presentations, and meet some of the people you could be working with.
  5. Final panel or in-person interview
    The last stage is a face-to-face conversation with our team in London or Southampton. It’s an opportunity to show your strengths and ask any questions you have about life at Quilter.
